pics of 35's with 4" lift and 10' wide wheels?
 

i'm trying to decide between using 8" rims or 10" rims with my 4" lift and 35" Mud terrain tires

anyone got any pics of this?...i usually just use 8" rims, but i'd like to see some pics of this set up with the 10" wheels, if anyone has any:rolleyes:

I thought you had bigger lift or bigger tires?

Great topic because I too am interested in later getting some 10 inch wide wheels and 35's or bigger to go with the 4 inch lift kit.

I would do the 10" wheels if you have 12" or wider tires....

nah man, i got a 4" Skyjacker suspension lift, and today i bought 35" Pro Comp Mud Terrain's, (they got em on sale at national tire and wheel, buy 3 get one free:) ) and i'm just trying to decide between 8 v/s 10's

fyi, i def wouldnt go any bigger than 35's with a 4" lift, unless ya plan on a cuttin:o

Well we don't off road it any, freaking thing is extremely rough riding, always has been.

Also the 33's I have are about 31 inches tall mounted, truck on them, and aired up to about 35 psi.

I think they would look good mounted on a set of rallys, just to keep everything stock looking. A 35x12.50 will fit fine on either an 8" or 10" wheel. The sidewall will have a little bow with an 8, or almost none with a 10.

Here ya go bigarmzz...Weld Super Singles 15"x10 & Wild Country 35x12.50's with 4" lift.
Even with the 4" lift they did rub in the front quite a bit so.. I did nip the fender edges as you can see...

I got 8" wheels for 33 12.50's and I like them better then with the 10" wheels my buddy bought at the same time as I did. I also have a set of 33 12.50 bfgs on rallies for the winter, and I have no complaints about them what so ever. I have no uneven tire wear or anything like that, but my sidewalls do stick out a little further then the wheel edge does, but I prefer that then baning my wheels into rocks,curbs, etc.

Just my opinion. I got some pics on the link below, but like I said they are 33's, not the 35's your wondering about.

i have 37x12.50s on 15x10s and prefer them aesthetically to a 15x8
but i also have about 6 inches of lift

The depth of a 10" wheel looks so much better in my opinion. It fills out the tire better as well...
If your gonna run a "balloon style tire" then why not let it be wide on the 10"? The 8" wheel will pull the beads into the center and will make it look a little odd.

My personal general rule of thumb is 4" lift for 33s, and 6" lift for 35s, esspecially for 35s that are 12.5" wide, you'd have rubbing pretty frequently...

I always ran 35's with a 4" lift. A 4" lift is a lot simpler than a 6" lift, given everything you need to do to get a truck with a 6" lift to drive right. Also, since I always had Blazers, the short wheelbase feels a lot safer with 4" of lift. My 75 had a 4" lift, with 36x14.50/16.5's on a 12" wheel, and they rubbed, for a little bit. The nice thing about having rusted sheetmetal is that you don't feel so bad about it clearancing itself.

I think the difference in the 8" and 10" wheel is also the difference of clearancing the fender or not. It's not the height of the tire that is causing it to hit the edge of the fender, it's the width.

Since you are only going with a 4 inch lift the 8 inch wheels will help with the rubbing. I put 35 inch Pro-Comp X-Terrains on 15x10 wheels on my 79 and had to do minor trimming at both ends of the front fenders. I think one can get away without trimming on 15x10 wheels if you are careful. IMO, there is no contest, the 10 inch wheels look way better.

Well if my calculations are correct, my 33;s being 31's truely in size, if I had some 35 inch tires truely they'd fit and have clearance. I am running 8's but would like to do 10's, should work on my street driven truck, we never off road it.

I'm running 35x15.50x16.5 super swampers on 9.75x16.5 rims with a 6" superlift. No problem with rubbing on highway but probably would if muddin'. Haven't tryed it yet. :lol:

Nice truck u got there. I am running a 6" lift with 9.75x15 rims with the 35X12.50x15 BFGoodrich M/T's, no problems rubbing. I think it looks just right. No problems when offroading either.

Well just for the sake of chiming in here, offset as well as width has a lot to do with clearance issues. Here's a Silverado I used to own with 33x12.50s on factory 8" wheels and no lift. It kept the end of one of the tie rods shiny (don't remember which one) from cutting the wheels deep while pulling in and out of the driveway. Aside from that she was good to go.

Here's mine running 35x12.50's on I belive an 8" rim. Not sure because I didn't measure when I had the tires off. I like a little added cushion to the sides, just have to be carefull not to shread the sidewall.
