Have you seen another one of these?

I've inherited a 1987 2wd Silverado with an extended cab conversion. It's my understanding that this was ordered from the dealer like this...I've had a lot of people comment that it's an unusual truck.

Has anyone here run across this type of conversion?

Not in person, but I have seen a few pics of them. Here's a past discussion on them: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=205430.

BTW, how does yours look. hint hint ;)

Re: Have you seen another one of these?

Thanks for the thread links...I believe it was ordered through the dealer and done in Dallas/Ft.Worth. One of the threads mentions that as well. I'm going to check for a coach company plate on the frame tonight.

It's in pretty good shape...needs a new paint job and some trim work. has a lot of miles 200k+, but mechanically has been great for the last couple of years.

I'll post some pics tonight.

Finally got some pics...wife dropped the camera in a stock tank. don't ask.

Let me know what you think I've got on my hands...probably looking to sell it in a couple of months. I really don't want to just trade it in...want to sell to someone who will restore it and do it justice.

Didn't find the coach sticker on the door jamb or frame.

thanks for the input!

I like it alot. Looks a little weird, maybe just different, not used to seeing xcab in that body. To me the bed doesn't look right at all though. They just cut the front off a long bed. The gas door is way close to the front and it looks to be long behind wheel wells. The cab portion looks great though.

I like that a lot. Can you take some pictures of the interior? I am curious to see how they did it.

That exactly what they did cut somthing like 7 or so inches out of the long bed. most of the time this was used as the florr in the extended cab portion. I agree a short bed would look better but they never made a factory x cab so this as close as you can get. with a longer frame and the stock size long bed it would look really cool. i wounder if you put one of these on a 3+3 chase?? hmmmmmm

I have seen these trucks several times. As a matter of fact, I think that there is one for sale here in Sulphur Springs. I believe I've seen in i the Lowe's parking lot...I'll check tomorrow on my way thru.

Thanks for the comments. It's been a great truck. I'll get some interior pictures of the extension and jumpseats.

BTW what do you think is the best way to list this if I wanted to sell it? I have a couple of guys here in Austin who actually followed me home to offer to buy it, but I have no idea what to ask. It's fairly unique and I'm kinda hesitant to let it go, but I just had twins and my wife is pushing for a more kid-friendly car (kill me:crazy: ).

Has anyone had success with Ebay? I've never sold anything that big before...did the Craigslist and Autotrader for my car.

I would have to yes, I've had success there- but not usually with selling a vehicle. especially if it has a reserve.

This vehicle is unique and needs to marketed and written up the right way.
you'll get a ton of silly questions about the truck from people that are not going to bid on it anyway. you have to take that with a grain of salt.

Yeah..that's about what I thought about Ebay. I guess I will try to sell it through these classifieds and TruckTrader...any other suggestions? I was thinking about 5k given it's a hard-to-find truck and it's in decent shape.

Re: Have you seen another one of these?

Put it on Ebay, write up a good true story about it and put about 7-10 "enlarged" pics and I bet you will sell it for 6-7k.
