Re: New Shoes!
I think you will like driving it with the 255's better than the 275's . The width of the 275 on front always seemed to make my trucks walk the road . I have not had that problem with my 255's . That is just my opinoin though . The truck definitely looks good , especially with those old comfortable socks . Frank

Re: New Shoes!
Man I love that truck, I wanna paint my truck that color when I get the body in shape. I love that paint scheme. I also have those kinds of wheels on my beast. Mine are 275/60/R15's tho. They sit a little fatter and shorter, but overall a great tire! That truck ROCKS! That is by far the best stock color!

Re: New Shoes!
I really wanted to run a 285/70/15 on the rear with the 255's in front, but the same all the way around will be better for a daily driver. I like my rallies, but I'm gonna keep my eyes open for a set of used Torque Thrust II's. I can't afford to buy new wheels. The Hopsters will stay on the 68. I'm also considering a slight drop, maybe 2/2 or 3/2. Will 3" springs work OK in the front or will I have issues with them falling out of the pockets like the 67-72's?

Re: New Shoes!
I think a set of the Ansen Sprint wheels would look good, too. The new tires definitely make the truck look a lot better, though.

Re: New Shoes!
If you're sure that the leftside has sagged (and not necessarily because of the fuel tank, then maybe go with 2 1/2" drop spindles and swap the leftside and rightside springs. If you can swing the budget for a 4 1/2 - 6 drop, a simple flip kit (instead of shackles/hangers and dropped leafs) for the rear would be cheaper in the end.
BTW, nice truck. |
