What would you pay.....

I don't know if this kind of thread is allowed or not, but I need some input here. If it's not allowed, my apologies--feel free to remove it. I have someone interested in buying the motor out of my truck, but I have no idea what to price it at. I need some opinions on what you think it's worth:

355sbc, 70cc iron heads, 15k miles on longblock rebuild with all receipts. Edel 1405 carb, performer intake, comp cams cam/pushrods/springs/timing set with 3k miles on it. HEI dist with taylor wires & accel plugs. Edel chrome air cleaner, valve covers, timing chain cover. Carter fuel pump, high flow waterpump, ceramic coated longtube headers. Basically it'll be a complete turn-key motor minus a starter, motor mounts, flexplate/flywheel and alternator. What would be a reasonable asking price? Thanks for your help!!!

Re: What would you pay.....

It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay and that depends on how bad you want to sell. If you don't really want to part with it, throw out a real high number, and if buyer agrees, both of you are happy. If you are desperate to sell, it is worth a lot less.
Realisticly, in my opinion, I would say it is worth +- 1500. I know you couldn't build it from scratch for that, but figure half of what $ you invested as a bottom line. I am assuming all the proper machine work was done when you built it, quality new pistons no more than .030 over, 4 bolt mains and quality crank turned no more than .010 under.

I would say the - or + of 1500$$ is not a bad place to start out. Maybe a little low but it all depends on how much u want out of it, I don't think its too much to ask really either.

I agree...$1500 if you trust the seller.
