Core support repair
5 Attachment(s)
Did a little core support repair tonight for a friend of texascowboy593's friend who wrecked his truck and I am selling him some front end pieces. Core support was a little soft under the battery so I repaired it before I sell it. I think not too bad for 45 minutes worth of work.

Re: Core support repair
Nice, I'm going to have to do the same thing to a 67 GMC support I have.

Re: Core support repair
You may as well save them. I did this with a piece of metal and a vice in no time at all instead of throwing it away and buying a new one.

I enjoy doing that kind of stuff. I think I'm going to invest in a shot bag and a couple of metal working hammers though. I think Eastwood has them. LockDoc |
Re: Core support repair
Eastwood carries some good items. I would buy them but I buy stuff on a need basis. I bent this metal in my vice with a body hammer. Believe it or not I bent up all of the sheet metal in the back of a 66 fastback this way too that was rusted beyond belief with a hammer and a vice. I might be dangerous with a metal brake!! Just trying to show some of you guys on here what you can do with simple tools and save yourself some money.

Re: Core support repair
you can buy a repair piece with the jam nut welded in to fix the core support its only available for the drivers side though its about $25 i think it has the curve and holes in the bottom to bolt up
