64 C20 Fleestside with 3 Gas Tanks??
 

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out why my 64 C20 Fleetside has 3 gas tanks.. There's the one behind the seat and the other two are in between the bed and the outer panel on the passenger and driver side. There is a manual switch on the floor in between the driver side seat and the door.

Was this a factory option or after market??

I thinking about removing the one behind the seat and the one on the passenger side, then patching up the hole on the passenger side.. Any thoughts on this idea??

....our '66' 1/2 ton had the same thing,our truck had a HUGE camper on it at one time and the man who had it didn't want to run out of gas on a long trip,he said they also came in very handy during that gas crunch in the early 70's he called it his "rolling gas station". his dealership put the tanks in "aftermarket" as far as I know they where not "standard"...

That's what my dad thought. Thanks for the conformation.. I'm not not going to tell him that he was right.. :floss:

Now, I just have to check out the side tank to see if it's usable..

My 65 had 3 tanks too. The ones under the bed were aftermarket. There all gone now. Have a keg in the bed.
