c-20 crossmember change

I am going to change out the crossmember on my 70' C20 with a unit from a 91 suburban and I was wondering if there any issues that I will need to address other than the holes on the side of the frame rails? The main reason for the change is the addition of disc brakes. Thanks for any info that you can offer.

Im pretty sure just a couple of bolt holes but here is a bump for you. I know there are a few that have done this and can give the complete low down.

Thanks, I was wondering about the idler arm and the pitman arm plus the shock allignment from the 70' to the 91'. Which brake lines and mastercylinder/booster to use? Any help on this would be great.

Re: c-20 crossmember change

The only real benifit to changing the crossmember is easier access to the oil pan. All the suspension parts of the 91 will bolt up to your current crossmember. I have done it both ways and it is a lot easier to reuse the orginal crossmember and faster. Especially if your 70 has the engine in it.
