Help me ID my new project..........
5 Attachment(s)
where would I find a VIN? How about model, specs etc. I'm more into the 67-72 trucks so this is a new one for me. Thanks.......

Re: Help me ID my new project..........
The last pic is the VIN. Should be some #'s/letters stamped into the bottom. At least my '54 was that way.

Re: Help me ID my new project..........
the only stamped numbers are trim 540, and paint 723. There is a 56 in the lower left corner but it's not stamped.

Re: Help me ID my new project..........
Look on the pillar by the drivers door, there should be a plate there with the VIN, it looks like it's a 55 to 57 truck.

Re: Help me ID my new project..........
The vin is aslo on the top of the left frame rail between the steering column and the rear cab mount. You will need a wire brush and a mirror to find it.

Looks like a '56 to me judging by the front hood emblem...

Re: Help me ID my new project..........
found the VIN. Its a 1956 6100 series 2-ton. Need brake parts right off the bat. Money depending, would like to replace all lines, as well as wheel cylinders. My plans are to set it up as a 50's era welding truck.

That's too cool! I love that idea. Are you a welder? Keep the progress pics coming!
