Who makes a good 6" lift
Just bought a set of goodyear 37x12.50x16.5 mt/s [millitary hummer tires] and am going to have to ditch the 4" rough country lift I was about to install in favor of a 6" lift.
More than likely going to have to go with a little body lift to. |
skyjacker, superlift, bds, tuff country
|
I'm really happy with my 8" Skyjacker SoftRide front springs. I've heard people say good things about Superlift as well but I have not ran their stuff. Lots to choose from out there.......ProComp, Rancho, Tough Country, Trailmaster, etc.
Let us know which way you go and how you like it. |
I just bought a set of the 36" hummer tires (R/T II) for my truck and have a 6" installed. I would say go with a Skyjacker or a Superlift as they have been rated the best for '67-72 and '73-87 trucks.

my friend has a 6 inch skyjacker with blocks and a 3 inch body on his 96 z71 and i have seen go through hell, i never thought the blocks would hold up to jumping, he rags teh hell out of it (daddy bought it) and its held up fine

allot of hardcore wheeler swear buy the tuffcountries
|
DO NOT buy BDS
thats what i have on my blazer and it rides like a damn tank. i had someone come up and tell me when i hit a little dip in the road where i live my front tires come off the ground:eek: :( i am also looking for something softer riding |
Blazerman
Skyjacker is great but make sure you get the softride. Be ready to spend some bucks as well. They do make the front and rear leaf kit now with NO BLOCKS! Are you sure you cant get them to fit under your 4 inch lift. I have 35's on my 6 inch lift and have lots of space left, would never hit. good luck
|
If I decide to go to a 6" lift it will probably be skyjacker, I put one on the blazer several months ago and it seems to give a really good ride.
I think I"ll try a 4" first since I have a brand new tuff country and rough country just laying around. I might go with a 1" zero rate on the front and that along with the dana 60 should give me 6 inch's of lift. Just not sure how much tie rod clearance I'll have with the avalanche high steer arms. |
BLAZERMAN,what lift kits do you have laying around?are any of them for sale?just thought i'd ask.
thanks,buckshot |
Buckshot, not sure which one I am going to use yet but when I do I"ll let you know.
|
Thanks
BLAZERMAN,thanks i appreciate it.also,i'm in no hurry-i've been without a lift kit this long i can wait a while longer.thanks, buckshot
|
