Bucket Seat Mounting For Jimmy
I have seats in my Burb from a 93 Mazda (I think) and I want to keep them for my Jimmy. The floors are different in the Burb and the mounting was quite a bit easier with the floor being elevated like it is. The Jimmy has brackets to bring up the seat height, but the hole patterns are quite a bit different and the passenger side has that big hook latch for the seat to flip up.
Does anyone have pictures of a similar swap? I'm thinking I'll probably end up fabbing all new brackets to match up to the existing holes on the driver side, but the passenger side will either get a similar setup with new holes or somehow utilize that hook latch somehow. Any feedback would be great. |

I know, I know :wop:
Driver side (1st pic) I am thinking of modifying the metal brackets to match up to the other seats. Drill out the rivets and abandon and lock the exisiting seat adjustment as my other seats have a way cleaner seat adjustment on the front right side. Little welding, some light machining and should be good. Passenger side (2nd pic), I am thinking much the same but the brackets are different. There is a hook latch connected to the handle and a spring on the front. The burb floor is elevated with a hump rather than having these brackets, so the seats went in with very slight mods on original brackets. Took very little time to put in originally. Just looking for some other ideas or second opinions. But, for the record, the Mazda seats are way more comfortable than the original Jimmy seats and are in excellent condition and have been in the burb almost 10 years without issue. I was going to show the seats, but (third pic)...enough said. |
