Off Road seats?
I am looking for good off road seats preferably with a 3/5 point harness.
Does anyone know what is a good fit for these rigs? The Blazer will be in the mud/trails 90% of the time so comfort is not an issue. This is a budget build so I am looking for something as cheap as possible. Thanks! |
Re: Off Road seats?
The plastic ones in Jegs are the cheapest ones i found.
Gotta buy the covers and the tracks seperate. |
Re: Off Road seats?
:agree: Not a real big selection available in a decent price range.

Re: Off Road seats?
You want cheap, go to the boneyard and snag a pair of buckets out of some rice rocket. You want to go to the Chiropractor quick get the plastic seats from Jegs or Summit. Even with the seat covers and *very* thin padding, you'll be in pain quick. My buddy ran a pair of those seats in his 71 Nova and I could barely stand a ride to the beer store and back with it. NO give at all. That was on the street, I can't imagine the pain off road.
I totally understand it's a trail only ride, but unless you are just doing mud drags in short bursts, your going to be wanting some kind of real seat. Trust me, I've done some trail rides where your crawling over bowling ball size rocks for the better part of an hour. For me it was low tire pressure and good seats (2002 Silverado seats for Me) that made the difference. You need more cushion for heavy pushin' right? |

I have a set of Corbeau's in mine and their to freakin narrow.
Every time the cushion slides forward (which is all the time) the basically unpadded side tubes bite in! Get something comfortable for sure, you'll never regret it. |

Thanks Vt!
Nice rig! |
Re: Off Road seats?
What every you get, make sure you mount your seat belts correctly. If you don't, they can do more damage than good.

I am running the mastercraft Rubicon seats in my buggy and they were not bad priced and they are more comfy then the recliner in my TV room. They are a full suspention seat and well worth it. They are set up to run a 5pt harness.

Re: Off Road seats?
A few years ago I met a guy who fabbed in some low-back buckets and matching rear bench out of (I think?) a Lumina mini-van. I looked good and because they were low-back, his passenger side tilt seat still worked. Also the seats all had the Lumina seat belts too.

Re: Off Road seats?
What do you guys think about a set out of the 2000 and up Tahoes? I have been going back and forth on whether to buy a set. They have the seat belts built right into the seat and are comfy as hell. I know they throw the look of the truck off but by how much? I have not seen any in a 1st gen. Also have been thinking of a set out of the ford King Ranch the Leather on them is perfect for my Hugger orange paint.
