Here is a link to their PDF instruction manual

http://www.onepieceproducts.com/File...versionKit.pdf

I purchased their kit and begin the install last night. I will be documenting everything and writing and publishing my own how-to article on 73-87.com when finished. There are a few steps that are out of order in the OPP directions, and one design road block I discover that halted my progress...a conflict with the factory power lock solenoid. I will be working this out with OPP since I do indeed want to retain my power locks. Stay tuned.

Chris can get them cheaper than anywhere else, $699.

Alex (ChevyDude) posted a thread when he installed his one piece. It's pretty detailed with pics.

Jeff,

have you heard anymore about your problem with the lock solenoid? I'm keeping an eye on all this since I for once decided not to be the guinea pig (so to speak) and be the first person to install something unproven.

I really, really, love to figure out something or engineer a project for my stuff. Sometimes though it's nice to just buy something and install it, and it works. You know? :) But as just about anything (non stock) we do on these rigs, nothing seems to just work, out of the box. I guess this is what makes it interesting.

A couple years ago I would have ordered them as quick as I seen they were available. I've got way too many irons in the fire right now.

Re: one piece windows

Mike, I should be able to move the lock solenoid down a few inches. I will then have to fabricate an connecting arm from the solenoid to the latch mechanism, as the solenoid hooked directly to it in the stock location. I talked with OPP about this, and they realized it was missing from their instructions...and will be adding it to them soon. I also talked with them about some other stuff today, and there will be a couple more refinements to the kit based on my feedback and some others. Ben, the guy I am dealing with at OPP, is a pretty cool guy and has been very helpful and able to answer my questions. He also is sending me a replacement gasket for free as I messed mine up over-engineering/over-thinking things as I often do. :(

I havent talked with you in a while, if you want to talk more about this, or anything, just give me a ring when you get a chance. :)

Not bashing Y'all But what is the big deal with the one piece windows I always disliked the looks of the windows in trucks when the factory (88+) switched to windows withOUT vent windows:rolleyes: To Each His Own

They are typically never opened. If they are opened they never reseal correctly. The whistle constantly when driving. The divider is an obstruction. It is the perfect place to break into the truck (all you need is a butter knife).......

Chris forgot to mention...they look like crap too!! :) IMO, the truck will look much cleaner without the bulky window assembly.

I wouldn't say I was one of those that were saying that either. I started work on this in February 2000 and had a working model buy 2003. I ran into the same problem Ben at OPP did. Finding someone to make the glass that didn't require a minimum of 400 sets, then finding someone that would not require a minimum of 500 sets of window scrapers. I found a glass maker in 2003 that would sell me 200 sets of glass, but there wasn't enough up front interest for me to sink that amount of money into buying 200 sets of everything.

Here is the pics of mine from 2001 when I had the template working (if you look at my captkaoscustoms.com site under the timeline it is the "special project" that I kept refering to. N2TRUX and a few others have seen these.
