engine swap????????
 

Whats involved in swaping a 400 sb out and putting in a 5.3 vortec engine? Engine comes with the tranny also. Just wondering if it's going to be more of a hassle then it's worth. the engine is going into a 76 gmc 4x4 short box. The 5.3 is complete right down to the computer and harness. The 5.3 came out of a 99 gmc truck.

This can be done, but be ready to wrk on some wiring. It is going to take some time, My dad is getting ready to put a LT1 in a 68 pickup. In the end, you will have plenty of power, and great gas mileage also, If you don't mind the work, it's worth it.
