Wife just doesn't get how cool this is...

I am all excited, like it's Christmas when I pull this out of the box-

The wife is scratching her head and just doesn't get why I would get excited about some old dirty truck part. *sigh*

Definitely a guy thing. Likely most 73-87 guys would think, cool, a 91 grille conversion, but equally as likely your wife or girlfriend just wouldn't get it either...

The guy did a great job shipping the conversion; wiring is totally intact, he even left the hood latch, horn, body mounts and all hardware. I am glad that I bought a new grille and headlight doors though- the ones that came with were pretty trashed. With the wiring there, this is going to be a plug and play venture.

Know how you feel. My wife and her sisters looked at me like I was crazy when I opened a LMC box and ran outside to install new marker lights and front turn signal lights on my 78 stepside. They just didn't understand why I was so stoked.

Congrats on the conversion. While I'm a fan of my round lights, I totally dig those 88-91 'burb front clips.

My wife's father is a car guy, so she grew up with it. She may not share my enthusiasm for old car parts, but she understands, tolerates, supports, and sometimes even encourages it.

I <3 my wife! :)

If I remember right your Sub is a FI version so this may not apply, but on my 87 swb (FI) the harness is different. I have a core and grill set-up but it is going to require some cutting and splicing to make it work.
The advice I got was to just splice the headlight and turn signal sockets from the new harness into the old.
Just a heads up that it might not be plug and play.

I hear ya Brother! My wife is the same way............. Yesterday, I received a box from Summit and while I was doing my little dance singing "Merry Christmas to Me, From Me," my wife just glared. Maybe it was because I spent more at Summit than I did on her Christmas gifts......................?

It was the popcorn from the box that I pulled the radiator support out of... Really messy stuff. :D
