Crate Engines
Hey, just wanted to get some ideas on crate engines that people have had good luck with. There are many vendors Gm Perf. Edelbrock, Motown, e-bay has many. Was looking for a healthy mostly stock 350 reccomendation that will be used for a daily driver. I know Marshall Engines now has a higher end "crate engine". What are people using??? Thanks Todd

Re: Crate Engines
Lot of folks are going for this
260 hp version http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku or the 290 hp version http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku The one in my 68 is the 260 hp version back when it was target master. Runs great for me. |

Re: Crate Engines
Its not mostly "stock" with aluminum heads and intake but its still a 4bolt main 350 and its built tough enough to handle anything you may want to do in the future and has pretty good looks, the ZZ4 is a great choice, its my daily driver and out on the highway if i run 60 with a speed demon VE 750 carb i can get 18 - 22 mpg, in town with my 4 speed i can get around 15.

Re: Crate Engines
I think this is a pretty good deal. A 350 with 400hp and 400lb ft torque! All from Year One...
http://yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?cat=C Darn, this link just takes you to the home page. Choose a vehicle. Click on ENGINE (to the left) Then scroll down to YearOne Crate Engine then click on YearOne Power Crate Engine Assemblies it's the 350 for $2990 Good luck! Jesse |
