Temp control panel mounting

Happy New Year all. I'm spending this evening in the garage and have run into a smalll problem on my 65. I'm upgrading my temp control from single knob to the 3 lever setup in conjunction with a package A/C install and I can't figure out how the bottom of the panel is supposed to secure to the dash. There are two holes in the top of the panel and two matching points in the dash to receive the scews but the bottom has no attach points. Am I missing some parts here? The panel I got from Ebay has what looks like partial hole in the bottom but there is not a matching attach point in the dash.... Anybody done one of these an can offer some assistance? TIA

I haven't done one, but so have a NOS factory radio I found still in the box and will be installing it. I'm sure having that plate off will help. If i finish up my brake job today, ;) I'll start on it and let you know.

Need a picture of the bottom of the levers. I believe there should be a lip under it so it will intertwine with the dash and they screw the top in.. I have a lever unit but it is packed away and I can't get to it right now..

Do you mean the backside of the temp panel? My first picture showed the bottom front side. The lower part of the panel has a slot that the dash sheet metal fits into 3/4s of the way around. It all seems to fit up right but with just the two screws installed at the top of the panel it doesn't keep the bottom of the panel tight and secure......

I have a GMC which uses this control, but has a different dash. On mine there is an "L" bracket at the bottom that screws from underneath the dash with a phillips head screw.

Hope this helps.
regards,
Steve

Thanks guys, If you come up with a pic that'd be cool. I don't have a bracket so I'll probably fabricate something to hold me over till I find one in the wrecking yard....

Mine was only fastened with the two screws...looks like somebody had it off before.:( I have a scan of the unit from the assembly manual and it shows the bracket referred to above.

I need to bone up on scanning images and reducing file size. Bought my wife;) a new printer, copier, scanner for Christmas. I'll try to mail the file to you.
