Heater stuff

Hey, my girlfriend has a 74 that I am trying to take all the AC stuff off of. The AC equipped heater case is huge and has all the vacumn activated crap and none of it works and its all garbage. Anyway, I found a little non ac heater case, but when I go to test fit it, there is a big hole in the firewall just to the right of the case. The heater core outlet tubes come out there, but now there is this huge hole there. Is there a huge hole on ac and no hole on regular heat or what? Its ok if no one understands what I am saying, I am sure I will find out sooner or later. thanks anyways.

You are not seeing things. AC and non AC cabs have different holes in the firewall. Its not an easy change over (unfortunatly) YOu going to have to do some creative metal work on the firewall to make it look right

Man, by the time I am done with the sawzall and some caulk and screws, you think it would be easier to just tear off the front clip and take out the firewall and put in a different one?

it probly would be easier, i have had the hole front clip off my 77 in 3 hours
