Gears

My poor 3:73s have had it on the front of my swb 4x4.I found some new 3:73s for the front of it but they are for a 77 K10.Since both should have an open knuckle D44 will the ring gear be the same?Will a set of gears from a closed knuckle work too?

As long as they are both dana 44s they will fit.
