Traded a board member for this. Was going to switch the 68 to auto, but I'm putting a 5 speed in. Has truck levers. Missing the little red indicator. Nice and tight. $130 shipped.

I am still interested. Pics were a little blurry. How is the area where the shifter & shifter pin go? Appearance wise is it in good shape? If so I'll take it. Let me know as soon as possible. Thanks

My camera is showing it's age. Appearance wise it is in good shape. It's good around the shifter hole. If you are not happy, I would stand behind it. I don't need an unhappy board member! Just let me know. Thanks.

The PRNDLL style of lettering is the same as the true truck tilt. That is a bonus in my opinion. Andy is correct - that is a VERY nice column.

Congrats - Bob

Re: Van tilt for sale $130 shipped

i got that out of an early 70's van. I wanna say 73, but it's been 6 months since I've even seen that column. The levers are all correct, the perndle is correct, the harness plug is correct, I *THINK* there is a hole for the neutral safety switch in the right location. The only things that aren't dead on right for a truck is the 4 way flasher button, and the length.
I was gonna use that one in the longhorn, but it was way too good as trading matirial for an axle Brian had.

Brian, baby blue's truck looks a lot like the one you picked up here... what did you do with that one anyways? I can't even find the photos I took of that one. :(

Re: Van tilt for sale $130 shipped

Andy, I just bought some 17" wheels from a board member and I just got the motor buttoned up today (461). I'm also working on a 5 speed manual trans for it. I'm going to leave the rest alone for now. Even thought about sanding down the exterior and making it uglier than what it is. Haven't decided on that yet. I just want something to drive and beat on. I'm getting burned out on the show car stuff............

What about the length?

Burnsman 01-21-2007 12:58 PM

Re: Van tilt for sale $130 shipped

I think there is a write-up in the FAQ section. The intermediate shaft just needs shortened. I think you just rap it with a hammer? to get it to shorten (one section slide inside the other). Maybe Andy or someone else can chime in. Brian

Re: Van tilt for sale $130 shipped

you got it brian, on a late 68 to 72, you need to remove the intermediate shaft...the one between the column and the steering gear box, and shorten it by rapping one end with a hammer. Place a 2X4 piece of wood on it to protect the splines... I've damaged them before.
On a 67 and early 68, you need to obtain a colapsable shaft to install.
