Flowmasters ??
Any body have these on your trucks,And if so are you happy with
the sound level, and any more power? I am just wondering because I had a guy come in the shop today for a price on a dual syt. and he really wants the flows because of what he's read. I stock THUNDER JETS,AND SOME REALLY NICE GLASSPACKS,even fired up the 86 to have him hear it with the jets on it,he liked the sound but sill wants the flows. So he's coming back in a week, and I'll order theFLOWS on monday. I just think there pretty pricey, about 20to30%more list. THANKS TODD |
I have dual flowmaster 40 series and wouldn't have anything else. You can't beat that flowmaster sound.

i agree there is nothing like the flowmaster sound...except when you dont want to pay $40 to $50 a piece for them and you work in a steel shop..you make your own...takes some time but they sound the same..and beings how they show a open pic of them its pretty easy to do

I have 40 series Flows on my truck, and i love them. They are deep, throaty, and overally agressive. I didn't notice too much of a difference between the 2.5" exhause and the flows, then i did when i had 2" and short glasspacks. I might have picked up 10 horsepower, but i didn't get the exhaust system to go that much faster. I got it to sound cool :D.

3 chamber
I have the 3 chambers on my 69. Sound great, and I can still hear the radio. I will always use Flowmasters.

1 chamber
Well I am running 1 chambers on my step and i love them I really like the way everybody always look out side when I fire it up. They are very loud and they shake the house well the motor helps alot . But for a everyday driver I run 2 chambers and love the sound and IMO they are worth every dollar and then some but thats just me .:bowtie:

I got 2.5 in. pipe 40 series flows behind the cab. God do they sound awesome on the highway. Especially when passin some ricer.
|
Yep add me to the list of Die-hard flowmaster's. 2 chamber 3inch dumped right before the rearend.
|
I like my Dynomax Super Turbos. They cost $40 something each at Jegs. Great sound and good flow rate.

Just put new exhaust on my 72 and went with the Dynomax 86022 coated long tube headers, true dual 2.5" pipes that dump in the stock location, balance tube and a set of Flowmaster 40's that make this truck sound better than the SS Camaro! :D
|
I too have a pair of 40 series Flows with 2.5" Pipe on my 72, even though I probably paid too much to get the custom exhaust bent I wouldn't have gone with anything else, nothing beats the sound of a flowmaster :)

I had 40 series flowmasters dumping right after the mufflers on my last car. It was a 70 cougar with a 450 HP 351 cleveland. I couldnt go through a parking lot without setting off a few car alarms. I'm going in to get new exhaust put on my truck next week and I probably wont go with the flowmasters. I leave my neighborhood at 4AM every morning and my neighbors still hate me from that Cougar. Right now I am running 3 inch summit cheapies dumping at the muffler. I'll probably go with 2 1/2 inch full exhaust and live with the 10 HP loss although setting off car alarms sure is fun. I was in the Seattle airport parking lot last week and I kept driving around in circles setting off the same car alarms. My son was laughing his head off!

THANKS FOR THE INFO GUYS.

I'm going to run 40 series flos on my 68 with 2.5" and an h-pipe and exit them in front of the rear wheels with twin chrome outles on each side:canada:

I have 40 series Flowmasters with a X Pipe. If you want to hear what it sounds like, click on one of the video links in my signature.
|
I'm running dual Delta 50 series Flowmasters with 2.5 pipe behind my BB, dumped right before the rear axle. Less noise than the 40 series driving around but they do come to life when you get on it. Great sound and performance. Love em!

im runnin two flows right now but im steppin up (i guess you die hards might think down) to magnaflows. i like the sound but i like the mag sound better. plus, how can you beat no restriction?
