Removing Rivets Rant
My '68 4x4 has/had the poorly designed front axle front spring bucket design specific to 67/68 4x4's. She has been "curtsying" to the driver's side since I bought it. About 3 years ago I purchased the redesigned buckets from a board member. I just finally got motivated to install them. What a PITA! I hate removing rivets! The good thing is the new spring buckets are now straight on level. Okay, I feel better now after my rant...

Everybody needs to rant at some point in their lives. Glad things worked out for you.

Re: Removing Rivets Rant
Bishops Trucks, I am always intrigued when I see your posts. What are you doing in Oesterreich? I spent 3 years in Bavaria. I left in '92. I am going to be in Germany in May with a train pass and will be passing through Austria on a short jaunt to Rome.

Brent, You've got to admit that they are a pretty darned good fastening device. They don't come loose until just about everything else is destroyed...LOL!

Re: Removing Rivets Rant
They are great fastening devices! If I didn't have a blue wrench, I don't know what I would have done. I was just trying to make sure that I didn't damage the frame.

Breech,
Missing my trucks, thats what I'm doing in Austria. My wife works for the State Dept. at the Embassy in Vienna and I'm just a leech getting a ride around the world. Great life I have, I have been many places since I met her. PM me before you leave the states and we can figure out how we can hook up. I know a great place to have a couple beers and good Austrian Food. |
