70 Blazer steering gear box question

Help me out guys! I Stripped one of the top bolt holes for the steering gear box to the frame, longer story but it happened. The other 3 are fine but I was going to fix it by putting a nut on the other end... Does that sound ok to you? I could redrill the hole and tap it bigger but there is not a lot of metal there to begin with so thought this would be an easy and fast fix. Need suggestions!!! Thanks for a great place to sound off! bigdon

Yes nut, bolt and washers will be fine.

thats what i would do don. just put the bolt thru and the nut as you said. and btw that is one clean and shiny frame. one can see the time and effort you have put into it.

another alternative is re-thread it to metric , they are just a bit bigger than standard. we do that quite often when bolts pull threads on aluminum heads when working with exhaust manifolds.
