dually 60f
How hard is it to convert a dually d60f to single wheel? I just traded my cutlass for an 81 GMC crewcab dually 4x4 and want to swap out all the dually stuff for single wheel.

Re: dually 60f
All you need is the hub/rotor assy. Everything else is the same--bearings, seals, caliper, locking hub etc.

Re: dually 60f
What about the spindles and steering knuckles?

Re: dually 60f
they are the same too. the only problem you will run into is that they are expensive no matter where you get them from.
Check this out, too...long read, but worth it: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billav...ont/index.html edit: Chevy Hub & Rotor Combo GM PART # 15635530 www.gmpartsdirect.com |
Re: dually 60f
Dont some of the D 60 fronts just have an adaptor that you can un bolt tomake it a single? BTW your rear axle will be wider than a single wheel rear, but it makes up for the fact that GM liked to make the front 3" wider than the rear on there 4x4s.

Re: dually 60f
not stock, if some one added a spacer to make a dually setup but not stock.
the ONLY difference is the rotating hub EVERY thing else is the same. there is 2 way to get srw, buy srw hubs or have the outer mounting flange milled off and the hub body cleaned up and milled down a little. |
Re: dually 60f
OR you could just run stock HMMWV wheels, since they have such a shallow offset the tires will be tucked in. You might also search for this on Pirate4x4.com or Coloradok5.com
