Okay You Tilt Column Conversion Experts...Help!
I got a tilt column out of a '76 Chev van today and I need to know what I need to do to put it in my '72 C-20. I heard the buzz about the difference in lengths...if so, how much? Where do I compensate during the install for this?
Will the guts (turn signal cam/flasher switch) from my original one swap into the van column? Mine is a 4 speed and the van column is an auto one. I am taking off the indicator and levers and will try to figure out a way to cover 'em up so it won't look too obvious. Will the housings (indicator & shifter arm with the non-indicator from my orig.) swap as well? Thanx!! |
Hope this helps, it sure helped me...

Everything should fit, but it is easier to just get the adapter($10-12) that will connect the flat plug of the van column to the C-shaped plug of our trucks. That's what you do if you buy a replacement turn signal switch anyway.
