I have done this same thing on a few different cars a my 74 monte my 79 chevy and mothers 78 mustang 2. the best way i have found to do this is to remove the radiator so that it dont get punjctured. 2 remove the battery and all pluggs for blinkers and lights ect. 3 remove 2 main mounting bolts off the frame removing hood will make it lighter and easer to get to bolts ur call on hood. then on the firewall you will have 4 bolts 2 on the wall and two on tyop the wall by the fender ***DO NOT LOOSE SPACERS OR HOW MANY ARE THERE*** After you have done all that you have two on the bolts on the lower rear part of fender remove then and fender well bolts off frame and pull her off. if you have any questions hit me up on yahoo at bent_fender_58x
