??? about a spring
 
well a friend of mine bought a 72 4x4 blazer and we were talking and he cant figure out what the spring behinde the drivers seat is for. he said its about a foot and a half long and attachs to the floor on one end and its stretched out a lil and hooks to some sort of a bracket?? i havent actually saw it. but told him id ask the pros on here . thanks for any help you can give.

I might be wrong, but didn't that have something to do with the factory jack and lug wrench?

luv im not sure i havent saw it yet. maybe ill get up there this weekend and check it out. if it is like your picture. that mean its for the jack and stuff as the others said? thanks for the pics ill follow up. thanks again

Yes, that long spring goes behind the seat on the short step up wall between
the cab section and the bed floor, it was used to hold the tire iron in place ;)
