New member with question?
3 Attachment(s)
First I would like to say hi to everyone on this forum. I have been a fan of classic Chevy trucks for some time. The question I have is about a 1970 C10 LWB that is being offered to me through a trade. I had previously placed an online ad to sell or trade my music equipment for a truck or old car from the 60's to 70's. I am supposed to see the truck today sometime today, when I hear from the owner. He sent me some pictures of the truck and I would really appreciate it if you guys could let me know what the truck would be worth. The music equipment I'm trading: Marshall JCM800 50 watt tube 1/2 stack, 1954 Fender reissue Stratocaster & Gibson Explorer Studio guitars has a value of about $2000. If the truck is not worth the total value of my equipment, I was thinking of offering him less of the equipment to be equivalent to what it would be worth.

Re: New member with question?
Oh, I meant to add that the truck has a 350 V8 and is an automatic. I'm not sure about the bed, as there was no pictures of it.

Re: New member with question?
It`s hard to be real accurate. But,I`d say that truck is worth no more than 1/2 that. Not a bad truck, though. All your equipment is nice and working, right? Were you expecting to take on alot of work or just an oldie to tool around in?Your best bet would prolly be(if it was me)to trade-up to a nicer truck. That way you`d trade good stuff for good stuff.

Re: New member with question?
Welcome to the board, my advice is to be patient and don't trade on the first offer. Unless its a good ride. That trucks looks in the 1500 range. You might sell your stuff and buy a better truck in the 3-4000 price. Alot will get a 1000- 1500 truck and pour a a wad of $$$ in it, when 2k would buy a better one and less work and money. Use your own judgement and have fun!!

Re: New member with question?
I would expect allot of people wanting to trade a truck for music equipment. How long have you been listing this stuff?
If you really want that truck you may have him shell out some cash with the deal. Like mentioned before, you probably will do better selling you equipment outright. Good luck and hope to see you here in the future. s/t |
Re: New member with question?
It's tough without better pictures, but I would say $800. It has rust, and that front end is dinged up pretty good.
Looking at the tires it looks like it's been sitting quite a while. It could take some work to get it road worthy. |
Re: New member with question?
I appreciate everyone's replies. I think I will sell my equipment, save some money and look for something in better shape. There are a couple of 71's for sale in my area. I'll probably go check them out. Thanks again guys. I really enjoy this site and I'll definitely be around here often. :c2:

Re: New member with question?
PanelDeland, that would be great if I could get some info on a few good deals on a truck out here in Atlanta. :metal:

Re: New member with question?
I don't think the truck is worth more than half the price of the strat.
