Ptiman Arm Nut
 

I just installed my new power steering gear box. I have tightened down the nut about as far as I can go without fear out stripping it. Does it look like its far enough up?

your not going to strip that nut by hand. i always use an impact gun to make sure the pitman arm seats down all the way. that looks ok though

Thanks cable guy. I declared war on it and broke out the torque wrench. I got almost another 1/2 turn out of it.

its on far enough... you did locktite it RIGHT ????????

Actually no I didnt. After doing a quick check I have some blue thread locker. Should I put some on?

Ok i took if off (much easier this time) and gave the threads a shot of that thread locker blue.

torque spec on that nut is 180 ft lbs. Not going to strip that by hand. But it does look like it is installed as far as normal.

Ill torque it up to 180 later tonight. Thanks for that torque spec.
