doing a basic bag setup have some Q's
what i will be running will be bags on all corners with stock spindle up front and no notch out back but i do have a 2" block out back now. I plan on swapping to drop spindles and a C notch next winter but for now i want to do the bags . the questions I have are
Will I have pinion angle issues with my setup? should I keep the 2" inch block out back? any other things you guys can think I might have issues with or should look out for id be happy to hear other wise from what Ive been told this should be a fairly straight forward setup ? thanks Jason |

Re: doing a basic bag setup have some Q's
although i don't think you will hit the frame when at ride height with the blocks in, :agree: with XXL, you will bottom out when aired out, at least to the bump stop.
if you are gonna wait to do the notch, pull the blocks for now. as for your pinion question, based on what i'v read here, you will need to make an adjustment. if you have a split shaft, one option is to flip the carrier bearing mount in the cross member. there is a post describing this in this forum... i'll find it and post a link. |

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly
I have not notched my frame yet, but I am using a 3" cup on the rear. It's not as low as others, but when I'm dumped, the axle is on the bump stops. Not sure how much more it would matter with the blocks. |
Re: doing a basic bag setup have some Q's
I am also planning on running bags, and am curious as to what all I will need (compressors, single, dual, tanks, valves..) and what a basic setup will cost. Im not interested in fast valves and such that will enable the truck to dance around.. And it doesnt need to lay frame- (All I will have is a small c-notch and 2.5 lowered spindles) I just want it to dump when sitting still and ride somewhere around a 3-5 drop when cruising.
I dont mean to hijack.. I merely mean to expand upon the thread. :D |
Re: doing a basic bag setup have some Q's
check ***************** they have some starter kits and such. Without the blocks you'll bottom out easily on the frame, I did it for 2 years on mine so been there done that before the notch so you don't need the blocks in because it'll just mean you need more pressure to get your truck raised because of the extra 2 inches the axle is above the mounts.

Re: doing a basic bag setup have some Q's
i don't see why not. just make sure you don't go with 1/2 line and valves or the system will be to fast and slam your truck down when you air out. Go with 3/8 and consider getting an adjuster for your dump valves.
