70-71 Chassis Differences
What are the differences if any? I have a few ideas I am chasing around. Thanks in advance.

Re: 70-71 Chassis Differences
Nothing frame related, IIRC. 71 has disc brakes though as to the earlier models wich have drum brakes.

Re: 70-71 Chassis Differences
The frame itself the rear brake hosemounts to the right upper coil spring bracket where the 71 up frame the brake hose mounts right above the center of the dif. that is the only frame difference. Of coarse the 70 has drum brakes and 6 lugs where as the 71 has five lugs and front disc brakes. And also the spindles and center link differ from the 70 and 71 but are easily swaped vice versa. I hope I supplied the info you needed.

Re: 70-71 Chassis Differences
I put a 1969 frame under my 1972 and the only differences were the brake hose mounting points. The front brake hoses are in front of the crossmember on one and behind the crossmember on the other. I chiseled them off and welded them on the 69 frame. I changed the crossmember behind the rear axle for the rear brake hose. I chiseled the rivets off and bolted the new crossmember in with grade 8 bolts. Everything else was a direct bolt on.Hope that helps.
