Problem! Help!!!!!!
I just installed a new rebuilt 250 six cylinder with a 350 turbo in my sons truck. The problem is the rod from the column to the linkage seems to be to short. I have it at the very end and I am still a couple of notches off Park is were neutral is. Is the rod for a 6-cylinder longer than on a V-8? I measured the one on my V-8 truck and it is the same size but it has a couple of inches sticking through. HELP:confused:

Hmmm...I'm not the brightest guy in the world, but I'm gonna take a stab at this.
I would assume they're different lengths. A 6 cyl sits much farther back in the frame, and therefore, the transmission sits back farther too. It makes sense to me, but just because it makes sense, doesn't mean it's true...LOL Someone will be able to help I'm sure. TJ |
That is what I was thinking but were would a man ever find one for a 6-cylinder?:confused:

You could just get a aftermarket shift rod. The ones that are adjustible. I just can't think of the company at the moment. But I even had one at one time. Hhhmmm.
