im back home in so-cal.....whats step 1?
ok....first off, my D.L is gone till i pay off my 4 speeding tickets...{3K}
ill be making payments on them.... so anyways, im back home in so-cal... i just got a new job i block from my house....and i need to have my truck ready to go when i get my D.L back.... i want to slam it chevy truck rally wheels, or chrome iroc's 2nd gas tank 1 piece window roll pan floor shifter so, since you guys have more smarts then i do when it comes to these trucks.......where is the best place to start? http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/76/img0751wg0.jpg the frame off is no longer an option.....but its a california truck, so it doesnt really need one, also this truck will be my DD..the way its supposed to be :metal: |

since youre not able to drive it i would start with lowering it the other stuff can be done in between use

i live a few blocks from djm... in gardena.. i heard they are not exactly the greatest... what im looking for is the lowest, safest drop possible, without going 20 and or bagged.... more then likely ill be using stock rally's....and a slam.. anyone know if they make a good complete kit? everything in one shot? |

I have had nothing but good from all the DJM parts I have used. Do your research, but don't rule DJM out. If you like the IROC replica wheels I would go for 17's. OK, I'm lying, I would go for 20's but you said that wasn't what you wanted.
I would put a chrome rear bumper on it rather than a roll pan....:) |

I agree on lowering it first. Now idea about djm I have really now experience with lowering trucks yet.

found some good stuff from DJM, i guess ill do the front, then back... not bad... looks like around 400 for the complete 5 inch front drop.....right? coils/spindles/shocks.....the upper and lower arms are not reguired just yet are they? i mean i can install those later right? if i actually need them..
if anyone has some 15x8 rallys near torrance, let me know. |

why not use the money you plan on using to work in the truck, and put it towards paying off your tickets, so you can get your license back quicker?

i agree on paying those tickets off first.you can't get away from it forever.it will come back to haunt you,anytime you apply for anything ,credit,jobs,any applications it will start showing up.wheels are cool.but so is a clear consciense.i've been down that road years ago.just trying to help a fellow chevy lover from making the same mistake's i did.your doing the right thing paying them off as quick as you can,good luck.

almost forgot i got so caught up in my lecture about tickets.you got a good start on a sweet lowered truck.i'd go with a 4,6 kit.you may run into clearence issues with a arm rub,if you use stock rally's,i did.but,some don't.post some pics when you get done.alot of guys on here love lookin at lowered chevy's.

Agree, take care of the tickets first and do your best not to get any more. You might be spending all your money on insurance rates because of the tickets so you sure do not need to be getting more.;)

sorry i havent been back in awhile...

3000 dollars in 4 speeding tickets?! How fast were you going?
My biggest was 300 and I was going 96 MPH. I have an MA license, an NC plate, and I live in GA, so the beaurocratic web hinders the paperwork from getting through and soiling my record. So far, still clean... Pay off the tickets first, then buy a Valentine 1 (400 bucks). Then invest in driver's ed to reduce your license points. Then lower that sweet truck of yours, that thing looks great so far! |

if you cant find a set of rally rims, let me know (since I dropped 18's on my truck). the ones I have still have damn near new tread on them.
