Lift Question

It looks like we're going to use the aftermarket shackle by OffRoad Design (http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/shacklekit.htm) when we lift this truck. Since that shackle by itself will lift the rear of the truck by ~ 4 inches, We're going to use a stock height spring in the rear and get a 4 inch lift spring for the front. Does anyone forsee there being a rear problem with this? My cousin's buddy (suspension tech) seems to think I shouldn't have any problems, but I'm a bit worried since the stock spring will be softer than one with a 4 inch lift. Will the truck still ride smoothly or will I turn this thing into a bucking bronco (hard in the front soft in the rear).

We'll be using the Soft-Ride springs from SkyJacker which seem to be soft springs anyways. Am I just being overly paranoid?

Re: Lift Question

I'd go with a complete set if I had the option.

I agree with your way of thinking, running two different spring rates between front and rear just doesn't sound good.

If you want an uber smoooth/soft ride then go with the Alcans.

Re: Lift Question

I run the shackle flip on my 69 K20. I initially had 4" front springs and the stock rear springs and it seemed pretty smooth to me. Didn't feel really any different than the stock setup. Course the K20 would have a longer wheel base than a K5.
