Rack and Pinion Steering
I have a 1972 Chevy chassis that I want to add a power rack and pinion set-up to. Does any one know of a cheap way of doing this or a company that produces a kit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing. I looked at Flaming River but nothing for us. I've been doing some research and it seems the Ford Thunderbird setup is better than the MustangII. I haven't seen anything about any chevy setups though.

Just for your information, Jim Meyer Racing (www.jimmeyerracing.com) offers a complete front crossmember with rack and pinion steering and disk brakes. It has options like Shock Wave air suspension. I am overseas with the Navy and have not received any replies from e-mails I have sent the company on price and options. Looking at other crossmembers they offer I am guessing it is about $2400-$2500. I think that is out of my price range but they may be able to sell a kit just for the steering. If you find anything gives me a reply and I will do the same.

Bolt In Kit
Hello,
Fat man Fabrications on the east coast has bolt in kits for swapping crossmember and steering/suspension. www.fatmanfab.com Good luck!!:flag: |
Keep in mind tie rod length when you are looking at racks. If the tie rod on the rack is longer of shorter you are going to have some terrible bumpsteer.

I thought about doing tihs.. although my suspension is already setup and ready for a steering gear.. yall think rack and pinion is really nessecary? my f*** has rack and pinion and it has to be one of the things I like the most about its steering.

Help with E-mail
I am trying to contact Fatman Fabrications with some questions on their bolt in front crossmember for my '72 chassis. Does anyone happen to know an e-mail address for them? I am overseas and cannot use the phone number that is supplied on the website. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
