new gauge wiring

alright, i'm in the planning stages of my gauge upgrade over to all autometer units.

i'm looking at wiring right now and would be Wonderful if someone whos done it before could help me out with a few questions.

i'm looking at getting this painless kit
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...44600_-1_10409

does that kit just plug into the stock wiring behind the dash and then the new gauges plug in?

i also plan on running an electric speedo, i know i would need to get the speedo sensor that goes in the tranny and then run it to the new gauge???

Re: new gauge wiring

The gauges you are buying and the wiring harness you linked to do not have connectors on the end, you have to do that part. The harness will provide you with a wiring diagram, hooking it all together is pretty straightforward. Hooking it to your truck, I can't help you there. I purchased the complete 73-87 Painless harness...so it was pretty easy on my project. Get a hold of Swervin, or read his article on 73-87.com...it's all been done before.

the 73-87 master kit would be really nice, how hard would that be to install if i do not plan on completely gutting my truck???
