tail gate hinges or cables

I have a 1966 chevy that i shaved the tailgate chains off of, i installed latches on the inside but cant find any cables or hinges to hold the gate when its open. Anyone found an aftermarket company that sells them? please help if ya can. Thanks.

I purchased pretty nice stainless cables from Bruce Horkey. They make bed parts and roll pans. I just don't have a website for them and can't find it right now. Their parts are first quality and I highly recommend them.

I'll have to go look again but I think there is a threaded hole there,if there isn't weld a 1/2" nut in that spot and I forgot to mention you must shave the inner lip off on the tailgate and weld it up so the cable has someplace to fold into ...

Mar-K manufactures a folding link system for stepsides http://www.mar-k.com/what_s_new_at_mar-k.html You will have to scroll down a few items to see it. It folds into the tailgate end when you close the gate and holds the tailgate level with the bed when you open it. Installation instructions are on-line. We are working on the fleetside version.

the latches where purchased from "brothers" cables kragen-shucks....whatever..depends on where you live..good luck.

...I'm not really sure I just put the tailgate where I needed it measured from A to B and took what I needed from the shelf, if you look close you could match them up with something there...

....BTW... the bolt you see in the picture is a door hinge bolt with the top shaved down for clearance.....
