Clutch Pivot Ball

Does anyone know if the clutch pivot ball that attaches to the bracket on the frame side of the clutch linkage bell crank is still aviable from the dealer. If so does anyone know the part #? If not where can I get one?

Re: Clutch Pivot Ball

You can probably get that from LMC or Classic Industries. When I was a Chevy technician in the early eighties, that was a VERY easily obtainable part. I called the Chevy dealer JUST LAST MONTH about one, and the guy had NO IDEA what I was talking about. Shows how times have changed. I THINK the one on the FRAME side is part of the Z-bar if recall from all the ones I have in the garage. Or else they are all just stuck in there with old grease. If it wasn't 10 degrees, I would go check.
On 67-72 TRUCKS, the motor side is a BRACKET with a pivot ball, unlike CARS, where it screws right into the hole on the block. Hope this helps. Mike

Re: Clutch Pivot Ball

Hotrodmtodd thanks for the heads up on looking at LMC. They do have the parts I am looking for. Going to try the local dealer first on Monday and if they don't have the part I'll order from LMC. The pivot ball does come out of the frame end of the Z-bar. FYI: The pivot ball is held in with a round spring retaining ring and then there are nylon bushings in the shaft. Thanks for your hepl. Once again a board member comes to the rescue.
