73-87 Two-tone paint... body one color and cab top another color pics???

Anyone have any pics of 73-87 with two-tone paint.... basically body one solid color and then the cab top painted another color.

I am thinking of red on body and white or silver cab top.

I do not know if they ever did this at the factory but saw one this morning that was blue and white... ALmost like a 67-72...

Looking for pics.

I have seen a few in the white cab style. I think red with a silver top sould look really good as long as there is a molding or pinstripe to break it up

Here's a couple from the front/side. Pickup is fairly dirty from the snow fall this morning after I got to work but you get the idea.

Don't have a pic of mine on the computer right now, but mine is still (barely) factory dark gray body with black roof and rockers.

Thought on this paint scheme. Where the paint stops in the front on the roof what it it went down the front along the sides of the windshield. That away it would be even from the side. (the white stops at the same spot on the cab)

Its not the greatest but you get the idea

Mine is kind of what you're talking about, except it also has silver on the bottom. I really like the 2 tones on this body style. I also really like the factory trim. Unless you're building a really wild custom, I think the trim is a must.

Can anyone tell me what the original color of my truck was? The interior is kind of a redish orange, I know the truck hasnt been repainted

id say your original color is the collor under that mirror you removed. or under the hood under the heat shield.

My '73 has white paint all the way down the A-pillar....unsure if it came that way from GM.

Is the codes still in the glove box? It appears to be the Burnt Orange Metallic color.

It doesnt appear to have any metallic in it, and the glove box was cut do to an indash a/c system put in the truck in 1983

It might be cardinal red based on the area under the mirror then.

Diggin this one back up....I'm seriously considering painting a truck in this color scheme.

I have my parts truck, a 78 Silverado with the aluminum band that goes around the back of the cab.

The new truck is a base model or Custom Deluxe truck that had no trim at all.

I want to take the silver band off and put it on the new truck to cover the paint line, is it screwed on or adhesived ?

some are screw others might be body mounts

On my truck the corners are held on my studs, and the rear flat peice is held on with six or so body mounts. I was going to leave it off my truck, but i think i am going to put it back on.
