Should I?

My Dad has a 82 chevy Custom Deluxe 4x4. I like the Lifted look, and I was wondering if one of you guys have any pics of some. I was thinking of trading him my longbed that is a 84 Scotsdale 2wd. It needs a little work but would be well worth it. I would like to raise it HIGH! I will be having pics coming soon of all three trucks.

I like the 6" lifts and 35" tires. Best ride/drive on a big tire that won't break the bank when buying tires or the lift. Also about as big as you want to go before breaking stuff.

Re: Should I?

Lifts are nice but what you gonna use it for?? Lifted trucks are nice but driving them every day can be a pain. I would say if you plan to drive it daily then a 6 inch all spring lift and 35's. Or even a 4 inch and 33's. but i think 6 inch and 35's would look the best. any bigger then that and you will have a money pit on your hands. Parts will wear faster because of added stress and Tires are not cheap!!! I am more a 2wd guy myself as far as show and street go. If i have somthing lifted i am wheeling it and beating on it hard!!

ave fun with whatever you decide and i think that a 6 inch with 35's would be perfect if you get the 4x4

Lifted trucks are the best. I agree get it lifted and bigger tires. That would be cool if you traded your dad. Defiantly need some pictures.

Re: Should I?

I personally have never been a fan of two wheelers, growing up in rural Iowa, so I am definitely more of a fan of the lifted trucks. I do have to agree that I wouldn't go any bigger than a 6" and 35's b/c it's not practical in any other situation other than mud trucks or rock climbers. If it is a daily driver stick with 4" and 33's, that is what I did w/ mine, and there is still enough usability. Plus, people get out of your way in city driving.

I had a two wheel drive 55 Chevy truck for about 2 months before it was set on a 76 4wd Blazer chassis. Best swap ever.

By the way, I have been around a couple of tractor tire trucks like the one above, and they aren't as bad-a as you might think, and you can't license them to drive on the highway.
