Independant Rear w/ bags

Well, now that i got a suburban, its got windows, and im going to want to put seats in the rear. WIth my old step notch, it came way forward to clear the trailing arms. Lost alot of seat room. If i do a 4-link, still have to bother with the axle. Well, i was thinking about doing an independant rear, and i came across a 96-ish Nissan 300ZX turbo rear diff and all suspension, minus the calipers. I was curious whether you guys think it would hold up to a mild 327 behind an automatic, what consideration i may have, and so fourth. The rear end is 62" wide, not sure what mine is, but i think its close. Just wondering if you guys think it would work out well, and if its worth it for the seat room.

I think it's a bit narrow for your rig, but I'm not 100%. I have seen 300zx rears mounted behind LSx engines pushing well over 400hp. For being such a small diff, they are wicked buff.

well, the turbo300zxLSD diff is 62" hub to hub... and i thought i read ours (60-72) is 60". Someone please correct me, or shed some insight on my measurement guess. Thanks.

I have a buddy that is running a 300Z rear in his 67' with a 350 in it. I think it is laying and may even be bodydropped.

Look at the back half Nate did for the C4. It should give you an idea of what you need to do. I will be using Nate's C4 rear back half when he has it done.

well, decided i didnt gain that much room by adding an independant rear. now the only question is, make the current trailing arm/watts link work(it already works, but add seats), or 4 link it. hmmmm... ill have pics of my current setup this weekend
