I didn't want to continue a thread hi-jack on another members thread but I got a few requests for pics on relocating my front shocks.

And made some templates from cardboard to get the desired shape on the actual shock 'tabs'. I cut everything out from the scrap: the 3" angle is 1/4" thick; the c-channel is 3/16". The angle was used as the 'base' of the mount & is bolted to the frame w/1/2" bolts. The shock tabs were then welded to the base @ the angle needed to work w/the lower a-arm. . . ....

I also used the 3/16" scap steel for the a-arm brackets on the lower ART arms. Relocating these keeps everything above the spring 'pocket'.
Once everything was finished welded, I quickly ran over as much surface as I could w/a D.A. & some 180 grit to give my high dollar paint of choice (Krylon ;) ) something to bite on. . ..... |
