Front Frame Width 87 Chevy PU
 

Hoping somebody can tell me what the front frame width is for the 73-87 Chevy PU. I am looking for the outside to outside front frame width.

If someone has that number handy, would greatly appreciate it.

Where exactly do you need the measurements taken from? Frame horns? Front suspension crossmember?

I am looking for the width at the front crossmember.

Looks like item "V" is close but measures from the inside of the frame outer rail. I would guess that the frame rail is made of 3/16" thick steel so a rough guess would put the width of the frame at the front crossmember as 28 3/8".

Does that sound reasonable?

I measured my front rails & it was 28 1/4" outside to outside & just under that on the inside of the rail to inside of the other.
