NP 241 to SM 465?????

The suburban has a 241 and a 700r4. Can I make the 241 work with my 4 speed???

The 700R4 has a 27spline output and the SM-465's have either a 10 spline, or a 32 spline output. Assuming you have the 32 spline SM-465, you would have to replace the input gear on the NP-241. I've done the swap on an NP-208 and it's pretty easy to do, not sure about the NP-241 tho. Hope this helps.

What are the main differences between a 208 and 241? I know that the 241 has the provisions for the electric VSS, but what else is different? They look the same.

Re: NP 241 to SM 465?????

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the NP-241 has a lower gear ratio, is a little stronger, and there is a slip-yoke eliminator kit available where there isn't one available for the 208. IIRC you can adapt part of the NP-241 to the 208 to use the slip-yoke eliminator kit, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Yep, get a 32 spline SM465, with a 208 adapter and bolt the NP241 straight up. The 241 is lighter, and quite a bit stronger than a 208 is

I have a 208 on the 465 right now, should the 241 bolt up then? I am going to keep the 241 for a spare.
Thanks

Yep, SM465 / NP208 combos are all 32 spline, so assuming you have a 32 spline NP241, it will literally bolt directly to the NP208 adapter.
