A co-worker had told me about this site and I thought I'd go ahead and post my truck. I'm in the process of getting the body work done to my truck and lowering it a little. Edited by Moderator

Where in Texas are you located? Love the Suburban/Blazer grill. Looks sweet.

Also, how did you do the alternator and a/c compressor swap? That something I've been contemplating doing for awhile now.

my 88+ trucks have all been like that, so im gonna guess it had to do with the serpentine swap.

Re: 1983 Chevy C10

i went with the serpentine setup. actually when i bought the truck it had already had that set up. all i did was rebuilt a 350 and used the same setup. actually works out a lot better. here's what i've put into the engine:

ARP CYLINDER HEAD STUDS

B&M TORQUE CONVERTER, TORK MASTER 2400 STALL

HAD AN EDELBROCK 750 PERFORMER CARB SWITCHED TO HOLLEY STREET AVENGER 770 (BEST CHANGE I'VE DONE SO FAR)

EDELBROCK PERFORMER RPM CYLINDER HEADS, ALUMINUM, 64CC CHAMBER, 170CC INTAKE RUNNER

EDELBROCK INTAKE MANIFOLD, PERFORMER RPM, DUAL PLANE, ALUMINIM, SQUARE BORE

CAM AND LIFTERS, HYDRAULIC FLAT TAPPET, ADVERTISED DURATION 308/318, LIFT .488/.510

EDELBROCK TIMING CHAIN AND GEAR SET, PERFORMER LINK, DOUBLE ROLLER, IRON/STEEL SPROCKETS

SUMMIT ROLLER ROCKER ARMS, FULL ROLLER, ALUMINUM 1.5 RATIO

the bumper that came with it was in bad condition. found this one at a junk yard. will be getting a new one with no lights soon.

Thats a heckuva engine combination you have. I bet it idles really mean. In the future you might want to do a video recording of the truck as it idles and maybe get a buddy to shoot a nice burnout and driveby. What do you have for mufflers? How does it drive with the tork master stall converter and do you recommend them for others?

The turn signals in the front bumper look pretty cool. If you convert them to clear fog lights, they would be functional as well.

Re: 1983 Chevy C10

the type of mufflers are flowmasters 2 1/2". sounds good and mean. has a posi rearend just need 3:73 gears. the stall works great. remember anything more than 2500 for street is not recommended. i built the engine mostly for street but can run on strip as well.

there is a little bit of body work that needs to be done. mainly on the top of the cab, passenger door, ding driver side rear cab, and small dings on bed. the hood has been replaced as you can tell. paid $70 for the hood and cowl vent. not bad huh? OEM to. the other hood that was on it was blue with dings and the paint started pealing due to the heat coming of the engine.

You'll need to subscribe and post a WTB thread on the parts board for any thing you need to buy.

the wheels are only 15s. i personally feel anything over 16 makes the truck look like a skate. 17s are cutting it close though. although the 17s do look good but the truck really needs to be dropped low to compensate the look.

i'd like to drop the truck maybe 4" in the rear and 2" in the front. i want the even look.

Another 83 with a 91 grill!! Welcome to the site. I have the same front end on my truck. I plan to add a 81-82 on my truck. The secret it that it will not have lights!! It will have air induction!!
