2" Lift Spindles (2wd)
So, I know I've posted about this just recently, but I thought I would put out the direct appeal.
I have done quite a bit of my own looking around for lift spindles for my 2wd 1986, C10 - I'm looking for about 2". I've read on this board that no one makes them anymore, and my own web searches seem to have confirmed that for me. So, if anyone knows of anyone who has a pair to get rid of, let me know. I am not DESPARATE (IOW I am not prepared to pay huge $$$), but instead of them cluttering up someone's garage, or going to a wrecker, I'd buy 'em. I realize this is likely a HUUUUGE long shot, but you never know... |
Re: 2" Lift Spindles (2wd)
If you're running stock 1/2 ton springs and a small block motor, 3/4 ton springs will usually raise the front up a couple of inches and make the front level with the back. The Big 10 and Heavy Half trucks came from the factory this way if I remember right.

Re: 2" Lift Spindles (2wd)
Thanks for the reply, but if you look at my signature you'll see that I already did the "heavy-half" suspension upgrade when I tore my old '77 down. So, my C10 is not really a C10 when it comes to the suspension.
I was also hoping not to do any more lifting with bigger coils (i.e. 1 ton coils), 'cause I didn't want to mess up the front end geometry any more. It's pretty good right now, and the lift spindles would allow this all to stay the same. Thanks again. |
Re: 2" Lift Spindles (2wd)
My girlfriend got a JC Whitney catalog in the mail the other day.
I was looking through it and under TRUCK/JEEP SUSPENSION, they have a Rancho 2" lift kit. It says 73-87 1/2 ton Pickup 2WD. Doesn't say how it is achieved but it might be worth looking into. |
