Rear Window replacement

I am looking to replace my leaky rear slider with a single piece with integrated smoke tinting. I have already picked up replacement rubber (and deluxe chrome trim) for the seal. Now I just need the window itself.

Any ideas where to get this? I am assuming a local aupplier is almost a necessity, but I am open.

Thanks!

Re: Rear Window replacement

I just removed my single pain glass and put in the slider (gotta love the back vent)

But to help you out our going to need a tool to slide the chrome trim through make shure you lube the chrome up real good our youll scratch the chrome.

Also when puting the window back in I saw my window guy do a really cool trick If you take a piece of string about 1/4 and feed it all the way around the rubber seal and have them end in the bottom middle. It gives it a way to pull the striing and pull the rubber over your going to have to have a person outside pushing against it so i works right. (i saw them do this with my vent window it shoould be the same idea though.)

But if your loking for glass id say call some glass shops, or you can call pepboys iv seen them have some glass stuff normally rear sliders but im shure they can get normal glasss thats tinted too.

Cheap isn't the driving force here. I want a certain thing, and I am wondering where is the best place to get it.

I guess I'll call the local glass companies.

New is probably the best bet if you don't care about price. Not sure if they come tinted new, but to have some place tint it shouldn't cost too much since it's a very basic window. Any place that installs glass should be able to get it for you.

I looked at LMC, and I could only find light green tinted glass. I really want the glass to be smoked. Classic Truck Parts has a power slider with glass that looks perfect. I just wanted to rid myself of the slider problems.

Man i love that color. Mines all faded now so paint doesnt shine as well anymore.
Same color just worn out have future plans to repaint it back to that color but with a black pin strip instead of orange. then make my brown interior black.

Still say it tho i love my back slider.

Thanks... It is the same as what was available on a 2004 GMC Canyon. It was the closest GM color I could find to match the University of Texas' burnt orange.
