73 & up BB Motor Mounts for 72 ????

I just heard that the 73 up BB motor mounts will fit a 72 BB and are easy to get.
Has anyone used these ? Will the engine hight be the same ,running headers ?

Thanks Bill

I have also been told by the guy who owns Vintage Chevy Trucks that 73 will work and that all you have to do is a bit of ajusting on the bolt holes. The guy down the street from me has them in his 68 and they work fine and he has headers to. I learned this AFTER I paid $$ for 72 mounts

That is a problem the 72 mounts are hard to get ,ordered some from GMC Paul but they are back ordered and been waiting for a couple of weeks.

I used bb mounts of a 77 suburban.
I installed a 454 on my 1968 swb they worked perfect. You only have to do some hole alighning, but its easy.

good luck!

i noticed that there is a 1" differenc ein length of the motor mount trees in the 73-up trucks from SBC to BBC, i have a pair of 454 trees off a 76 3/4 ton and they are 1" shorter than all the SBC ones I have, i also compared a pair of 74 Van SBC trees to 73-80 pickup SBC trees and they are identical in every way
