tach help needed
 

I just installed my tach into my blazer. My only problem is that it doesn't go over 2000 rpm's. It seems to work fine under 2000 but when you rev the motor it stops there like it is sticking. What could be the problem? I am pretty new at this and not very mechanical so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Blaze
