kind of a bouncy problem...
 

i have an 83 k10 w/350 and th400... edelbrock carb and intake, mild performance...

problem is this: throttle cable stuck while making a left turn and truck spun in a circle, slammed and hopped a curb... bent the rim out of round and knocked the bead loose... limped home about 3 miles and parked it... now, 2 yrs later, i have replaced both rear tires and the bent rim and took the truck out for a test drive... runs fine, but feels like there is a little bit of a bounce to the ride, almost like having a flat tire, or something.

all tires are good and the bent rim is gone, so what could be causing the bounce? is there anything else that could have been knocked out of place that would do this? what else could be damaged by slamming/hopping a curb?

check your shocks...after not being driven for 2 years, and just sitting without any static movement, the shocks might be shot

Push down on the truck if it comes up then back down then up again its bad. (has to be a bad up and down a 1/4 of an inch is nothing At least that how i check mine.)

Also what might be messed up. Id check the alinment/ bushing could be messed up.

I know when i went into a ditch with a mustang i broke both motor mount tranny mount and tore the fornt end to hell snd blew out a tire. Drove it home with a flate spare at 50 mph flat on front tire. Thats was a great car
(ofcourse you have a truck less would have happened)

well... guess what?

it's not the shocks, they are fine... had a friend watch from behind while i drove the truck, then watched it myself while he drove it, and as it turns out, the right rear wheel is way out of "alignment" and wobbles like crazy! the hub and/or axle appears to be bent, or maybe the bearings are shot. the rim is fine, with brand new tire on it saturday... otherwise, the damned thing runs great, albeit noisy...

anyway, any thoughts on this before i tear into it? what kind of things should i look out for while i have the wheel and drum off? what is the worst case scenario as far as damage goes?

another bent rim. or neededing a rear. my two worst scenarios i can give yea.

If the front tires have been sitting 2 years they have flat spots. It may take awhile to work out or it may not work out. I would change the tires around and see if that helps or moves the bounce around.

If you are seeing the rear wheel wobble then I'll guess you have a bent rim. Put a wheel on from another corner and see what happens. If it still wobbles you have a bent axle...:)

Jack it up and watch it spin in drive. If you see it wobbling pull the tires off and drum watch the hub. If it moves you probably have a bent axel at hub. I'm going through this with my truck right now.
