The Newbee Story.

"Hey" to y'all, I am quite new to the forum thing but what a great find. I have been up till the wee hours for more than a few nights flipping through all the info. I have joined chevy talk and tech support forum and a couple for my quad in the last week or so but this site is bustin with info and great people.

I'm a sucker for a good project. This one my son (15) and I started a week ago is one we haven't tried before.

We were working on a frame off 71 C10 trying to get it ready for his birthday when we realized that to do this we would be rushing to much and would't be happy with the results so we changed gears and just as we were thinking on what motor to put in a '77 I have with a partied out 454, "bam" our friends son wrote his '91 off and we bought it for the still strong 350 TBI and 4L60.

We have done numerous engine swaps to date but TBI stuff "AAAAHHHH" we thought. Well about 15 hrs into it we have the 2 harnesses out and a "lot" of the wires stripped out of them. This is the part where i started looking on the net to see if anyone has documented the proper wiring needed for the swap and here I am, rambling on to all who dare read this. We kind of pride ourselves on being self sufficent with most of the mechanical stuff that comes our way but holy cow, wiring "scares" us. Sooooo.... face your fears and jump right in. We are getting to know this TBI system up close and personal. We always were thinking of joining old and new tech by putting a GM 350 Ramjet in the '71 and we still will but after we "finish" this one.

Now, I am sorry for the novel but "Hi", this is us and our project. I will go to the appropreate forum and place a condensed version of the "life and times" and see what suggestions or questions arise. It will be headed '91-'77 350TBI Swap. Hope to see you there. Cheers.
